Our Story

Inspired by lived experience
The Counselling and Therapy Hub CIC (The CATH) began with a vision to create inclusive support services. Founded by a team with diverse expertise in disability and Neurodisability, our organisation was shaped by personal experience with neurodivergence.
Finding purpose
Our journey began almost 20 years ago, when a founder's child received an Autism and ADHD diagnosis during a time of widespread misconceptions. This sparked a passion for neurodiversity advocacy and connecting people facing similar challenges.
Evolving through challenges
Founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, we quickly evolved to embrace our specialised purpose: creating support services that support neurodivergent people and tailoring a counselling approach that works.
Growing our services
Since then, we've expanded to include:
- Neurodiversity training for organisations
- Support designed with deep understanding of neurodivergent experiences
- Resources highlighting neurodivergent strengths
Our future vision
We're developing peer support groups, expanding our specialist therapy team, and creating body doubling services to support executive functioning.
