FAQs Body Doubling
Everything you need to know about the service you didnt know you needed.
What Is Body Doubling
Body doubling means doing a task while someone else is present. It helps ADHD and neurodivergent people stay focused, motivated, and calm. We offer this virtually via Zoom, WhatsApp or phone call — so you’re not alone while you do your thing.
What Can It Be Used For
Anything that feels overwhelming but needs doing. Common tasks include:
-
Cleaning or tidying
-
Admin or form-filling
-
Making phone calls
-
Going to the supermarket
-
Studying or writing
If you’re stuck and need a calm voice or quiet presence while you do something hard — this service is for you.
What Happens During a Session
At the start of a session, you can tell us as much or as little as you want, if you need a gentle nudge or a motivational talk, we can do that. You can then hit mute or turn your camera off if you like and we check back in at the end to see how it went.
Is this Therapy or Coaching?
It’s neither, but it’s supportive. We check in, offer motivation if needed, structure, and a non-judgemental presence. Think of us as accountability support with lived experience, not a traditional coach or therapist during these sessions.
How Long Is a Session and What Does it Cost
You can book:
-
15 minutes – £10
-
30 minutes – £20
-
1 hour – £40
-
3 hours (with breaks) – £100
We’ll keep time, help you get going, and check in if you lose focus. You’re in control of how the session goes.
Sometimes people just need a hand to get started on a task, other times you may want us to stay until you've completed the task
I Still Don't Get It
Not everyone will get it — and that’s okay.
But, if you’ve ever had to do something scary or overwhelming alone but wished someone could just be there with you — that’s body doubling.
Whether it’s:
-
Catching a bus to town
-
Going to a job interview
-
Facing a messy fridge
-
Starting a task you’ve put off for weeks
We show up with you (virtually), keep you company, check-in and help you do the thing. It’s a calm, human way of making hard things easier.
We don't have to hear what you are doing, we don't have to see what you are doing, but knowing we are with you will make the difference.
And because we keep it professional, it is a judgement free zone.
